UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC)

Securing media coverage for research on sustainable energy.

I led on a communications approach on the launch of two reports for a sector leading research centre.  

The challenge.

UKERC is an independent research centre with researchers based in 20 different institutions throughout the UK. The team wanted to release two reports in quick succession around COP 28 – a noisy landscape around environments and climate. I consulted with them on strategy and communications, helping them publicise research around the transition to a net-zero energy and economy. 

The impact.

Working with a media consultant, working with a sector specialist media lead, we secure media coverage in trade publications, The Times, and The Financial Times, in addition to setting up a media briefing. We also helped the team with two publications: one was UKERC’s annual review of energy policy and key issues a new government should address, and the other was a report highlighting public views on heating provisions.
