Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC)

Sharing vital health information during transition.

I lead an in-house team to deliver clear and informative communications to health partners, industry and patients.

The challenge.

To prepare for policy changes in the context of Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic, I wrote evidence-based transition communications and engagement strategies across four sectors: international, public health, medicines and adult social care. I created communications plans and executed campaigns specifically tailored for industry, NHS patients and UK residents more broadly. Working with colleagues from DHSC and within the Cabinet Office, I wrote and distributed information about health policy to international partners.

The impact.

Clear communications around public health are paramount during times of transition, so it was vital that high-impact policy changes be shared quickly with all stakeholders. I helped to ensure informative, consistent messaging not just within the UK but also internationally, taking into account the changing global landscape. With strategic planning under the Build Back Better campaign, policymakers could look ahead to prevent future pandemics and evolve working relationships to collaborate more effectively.

“Manpreet brings intelligence, a calm head under pressure, dedication and delivers high-quality work. Respected by senior leaders and able to build effective working relationships quickly, Manpreet was an asset to the team and the Department. I would work with Manpreet again without hesitation.”
